Ok, catchy title and I promise to post details asap. Attached however please find the published interview. Meeting Joe one of the co-inventors of the RTSS Malaria vaccine was beyond an honour. I am eternally indebted to my editor at the time Ms. Rachel Jones who got me access to Joe during the 5th MIM Pan-Africa Malaria conference that was held in Nairobi in November 2009 while she was mentoring Kenyan journalists at Kenya’s Nation Media Group.
I most recently met Joe when I was giving a presentation on fevers of unknown origin in East Africa and also chairing a session at the ASTMH (American Society for Tropical Medicine and Hygiene) 60th annual meeting in Philadelphia in 2011 and he remembered me! Disclaimer: I did not study vaccinology but that’s a story for another day. For now, hope you enjoy the brief piece, if there’s interest I can go back to my original notes and post more content from our conversation now I have a blog! Dr. Cohen Q & A
